Regional Victoria Just Got Its First XERF. Here’s Why We Brought It Home.

It isn’t a needle. It isn’t downtime. And it certainly isn’t something we’d bring to Shepparton just because it’s new.

We brought it in because it works, because the science behind it is genuinely different from what’s come before, and because our clients have been asking for exactly this — firmer skin, without a single injection. This week, XERF arrived at ANO. First in regional Victoria to have it. And we’re not being quiet about that.

What XERF actually is

XERF is a radiofrequency skin-tightening device, made by Cynosure Lutronic, and described as the world’s first single-shot, multifrequency monopolar RF device. Which sounds technical. It isn’t complicated.

Here’s the plain-English version. XERF delivers two radiofrequency frequencies at once — 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz — reaching different depths of the skin in a single pass. The surface. The mid-layer. The deeper, structural layer that actually holds everything up. Most devices work on one layer. XERF works on three, at the same time.

The effect is twofold. There’s an immediate collagen contraction — skin sits firmer straight away. And there’s a longer game underneath: collagen and elastin regeneration that continues over the following weeks and months, as the deeper structural layers respond and rebuild.

No needles. No numbing required. Minimal downtime — some mild redness or warmth for a day or so, and that’s generally it.

Why we brought it to Shepparton first

Regional Victoria doesn’t usually get first. Melbourne gets first. Sydney gets first. Regional clinics get the technology eighteen months later, once it’s been proven somewhere else.

We’ve never accepted that as the way it has to be. Being based here has never limited what we bring in, or how seriously we take it. XERF officially launched in Australia and New Zealand in May this year. We wanted it in Shepparton as soon as it made sense to have it — properly, safely, with the right training behind it — not as a gimmick, and not because a competitor had one first.

Because our clients shouldn’t have to drive to Melbourne for genuinely new technology. Not for this. Not for anything, if we can help it.

Who this is actually for

XERF is suited to sagging skin and loss of firmness, fine lines, mild-to-moderate laxity through the face, neck and jawline, softer jawline definition, the brow area, the under-eye area, and enlarged pores or uneven texture.

It’s a fit for the client who wants firmer, healthier-looking skin without anything invasive. Who isn’t ready for needles, doesn’t want them, or simply wants to address early laxity before reaching for anything more. Sessions run around 60 minutes. Most people need one to two initial treatments, with an annual top-up to maintain results.

We’ll always tell you honestly whether it’s the right tool for what you’re dealing with. Results vary from person to person, and we’d rather set that expectation now than have you disappointed later. That’s not a disclaimer we’re required to say. It’s how we’ve always worked.

What happens next

This is the start of a series. Over the coming weeks we’ll walk through the science in more depth, what a XERF appointment actually looks like from the moment you sit down, and the honest answer to the question everyone asks first — how is this different from everything else on the market.

For now, XERF consultations are open. Not treatments yet — consultations, so we can look at your skin properly and tell you, honestly, whether this is the right next step for you.

So — needles have never been the only way to firmer skin. Would you want to know if there was another one?
